Account Manager
Cultivating durable, satisfying, creative, and profitable client relationships is the priority of Threespot’s Client Services department. The Threespot Account Manager is instrumental to this goal by initiating and maintaining high-level client relationships, inspiring and motivating internal development teams, and exploring appropriate new business opportunities within their accounts and around existing clients. The AM serves as the client’s voice and advocate to Threespot, and as Threespot’s advocate and voice to the client.
The AM will develop and maintain a full understanding of the client's needs, including the client's business model, brand, business goals and objectives, interactive goals and objectives, website and supporting technical needs, technical and creative capabilities, online marketing strategies, and high-level budget and timeline. Likewise, the AM will understand and uphold Threespot’s strategic, creative, and financial objectives, and actively manage their portfolio of clients toward those objectives. The AM will identify areas where Threespot’s service offering can grow to both meet client needs and strengthen Threespot’s position in the marketplace, and work with Threespot’s Founders and Directors to enable that growth.
The AM's mandate, simply put, is to comfortably, confidently, and unequivocally demonstrate ownership and leadership in all aspects of the client’s business and Threespot’s relationship to it.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated confidence and ability to lead and manage both the client and project team decisively
- 3+ years' experience in an account or client relationship manager role
- Proven record of maintaining successful client relationships and delivering strategic creative and technical solutions, primarily in the Internet/web realm
- Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams from different departments that:
- Translate business needs into interactive development strategies;
- Document user and functional requirements;
- Write functional specifications;
- Define creative, visually compelling user experiences;
- Propose smart technology and system solutions;
- Develop and manage project plans, etc.
- Working knowledge of all aspects of interactive development, including graphic design, information architecture and feature set definition, content strategy and development, and programming technologies
- Proven record of meeting revenue and profitability goals
- Ability to identify growth opportunities for existing clients and to work with other Threespot teams to turn those opportunities into successful solutions
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities to Clients
- Own the strategic and financial relationship with the client; support and direct the creative, technical, and tactical relationship with the client
- Work with clients and team to understand and document business and creative objectives, and maintain a full understanding of the client's short-and long-term goals, needs, and objectives
- Deliver team-developed strategic and tactical recommendations to clients and guide them through effective decision-making processes
- Own and manage the delivery of, client approval of, and sign-off on contracts, statements of work, change orders, and invoices associated with individual billing milestones
- Actively ensure client satisfaction throughout contract lifecycle, using means appropriate to each circumstance
- Identify growth opportunities for existing clients and work with other Threespot teams to turn those opportunities into successful solutions
- Embody the Threespot brand in all interactions with client and client-side stakeholders
Internal Responsibilities
- Maintain a broad understanding of current and emerging best practices in the realm of web technology to meet the evolving demands of high profile clients
- Work with department heads to build effective teams
- Oversee and support Threespot project teams as they translate client business needs into effective, strategic solutions
- Provide Threespot’s project teams with insight, access, and information, so that they can own their respective pieces of the client’s projects and relationships, and understand the business, creative, and technical contexts of the project.
- Give project managers the information and direction needed to create project plans that identify resource plans, deliverables, critical milestones, and potential risks to the budget and schedule
- Present the creative team with the client’s branding and creative challenges, and the opportunity to own the creative conversation
- Provide the technical team with the access and information they need to understand the business and technical challenges at hand, and then deliver clients the appropriate technical solution
- Review status reports from project managers and identify risks and help resolve problems
- Support team morale and enthusiasm for the client and our work
- Manage contracting and engagement definition
- Ensure that client MSAs and Statements of Work are all accurate and up-to-date
- Provide project managers the guidance and information needed for them to develop project scopes, budgets, and statements of work
- Manage invoicing and client accounts receivable
- Establish regular billing milestones for each client project
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure that all client invoices are entered into the receivables system
- Deliver regular updates on status of pending and actual receivables to Operations and Director of Client Services
- Deliver client invoices, and follow up as needed to ensure timely payment (escalating to Operations as needed)
- Observe project teams to ensure projects adhere to strategic goals, design guidelines, technical requirements and scope; engage when necessary, and escalate to department heads and founders as needed to keep client and Threespot teams on track
- Create and attain Threespot revenue and profitability goals in collaboration with business developers, department heads, and account management team
- Actively support company growth by participating in new business pitches and proposals, as expertise and availability allow
- Embody and champion the Threespot brand in all interactions with project teams and internal staff
