A website starring “America’s Best Idea.”
The NPS was excited to be the focus of the 2009 Ken Burns documentary, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” They came to Threespot wanting to recognize this honor with an “America’s Best Idea” website, which would drive traffic to the main NPS.gov website and encourage users to visit the parks. Based on our research, we designed a website that introduces the NPS through colorful stories and rich visuals, encouraging users to delve deeper into why the national parks were truly America’s best idea. We also created a flash-based timeline that featured key moments in NPS’ history as a tie-in to the film.
