From forecasting the weather to exploring the bottom of the ocean and protecting U.S. fisheries, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) plays an essential role in maintaining our ecosystem. When Threespot first engaged with them in 2014, NOAA’s fragmented brand and web presence did little to highlight the importance and complexity of its mission. Over 18 months, we evolved NOAA.gov into a comprehensive introduction to its invaluable work, showcasing the agency’s sophistication and impact. Developed in Drupal, the now-eight-year-old site still informs and engages the public while empowering NOAA’s diverse and numerous contributors to manage their content independently.
